Despite the rise in revenue, Lyft statistics showed the company had a net loss of $1.0 billion in 2021 compared to 2020's net loss of $1.8 billion. Its 2022 second-quarter net loss grew to $377.2 million versus net losses of $251.9 million in the same period of 2021 and $196.9 million for the first quarter of this year.

The company saw an 11% rise in its revenue per active rider from $44.63 in the second quarter of 2021 to $49.89 in the second quarter of this year. The figure represented a slight increase from $49.18 in the first quarter of 2022.

Lyft operates in 656 cities in the United States and Canada, with Lyft's market share being around 31% of the ridesharing marketplace to Uber's 69%.
